Brandon Crum was named the 24th head baseball coach in Allegheny program history on August 28, 2017.
A native of neighboring Saegertown, Pennsylvania, Crum returned to Allegheny after serving as the team's assistant coach from 2012-16.
Crum spent the 2017 season as head coach at Mercyhurst University-North East, and quickly made his mark. After a slow start, he rallied his squad to nine wins in its final 12 games of the regular season to advance to the NJCAA Region III playoffs. The Saints then swept rival Monroe Community College to earn their first regional championship since 2014, and advance to the NJCAA District Tournament.
After orchestrating the mid-season turnaround, Crum was named the NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year, while seven Saints earned All-Region accolades, highlighted by Dalton Donachie, who was named both NJCAA Regional Pitcher of the Year and Mercyhurst North East Male Athlete of the Year.
From 2012-16, Crum served as Allegheny's recruiting coordinator, while also handling the team's pitchers and catchers, calling pitches and in-game defenses, assisting with designing and implementing off-season strength and conditioning programs, and assisting with the organization of a number of youth camps and clinics. The Gators went a combined 97-60 overall, and 48-23 in the North Coast Athletic Conference over the span, qualifying for the NCAC Championship Tournament in three of the four years, including a trip to the conference title game in 2013.
Over Crum's first stint with the Gators, 12 players earned a total of 20 All-NCAC accolades, highlighted by [Joe Killian](http://alleghenygators.com/roster.aspxrp_id=5214) '16, who was named the 2013 NCAC Newcomer of the Year, 2016 NCAC Player of the Year, and 2016 D3Baseball.com All-America, while earning four straight All-NCAC selections. [Chase Boyer](http://alleghenygators.com/roster.aspxrp_id=5848) '17 was a three-time All-NCAC pick and was tabbed the conference's Pitcher of the Year in 2016, as the Gators swept the league's major awards for the first time since 1993. Killian and Boyer were also named All-Region by both D3Baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2016, marking the second straight season for Killian to earn the honor, after he joined teammate Zach Gray on the list in 2015.
Crum began his affiliation with Allegheny baseball in 2010, when he worked as a volunteer assistant coach leading to his appointment to full-time assistant in August 2012. During his time as a volunteer assistant, he also served as Director of Athletics and Facilities at nearby Conneaut Area School District, where he was responsible for coordinating the scheduling for all athletic events, including officials and transportation, developing the district's athletic budget, and overseeing the hiring of district coaches.
He started his coaching career at the American Legion level, as he manned the helm of Saegertown's French Creek Valley squad for nine seasons, accumulating a record of 150-30. His teams won 20 or more games in six different years and earned five district championships, while advancing to the Region 8 title game in four straight seasons between 2011-14.
A catcher, Crum played collegiately at Gannon University, serving as a three-year team captain. A 2010 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection at catcher, he was named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team in 2008, before earning the same accolade in the PSAC in both 2009 and '10. He ranks in the top-10 in Gannon career history in fielding percentage (.970), putouts (444), and hit-by-pitches (24), while he owns two of the program's top five single-season totals in sacrifice bunts.
Crum graduated from Gannon in 2010 with a B.S. in Finance, before going on to earn a Masters in Sports Administration from Lock Haven University.
He and wife Ashley are the parents of son Griffin and daughter Zoe, and reside in Woodcock Township.

Delaney enters his third season as the Quinnipiac baseball head coach after guiding the team to a 21-31 record, their second straight 20-win season.
The Bobcats had two All-MAAC players (Jankins and Batten), two All-New England players (Batten and Iannotti) and one all-Northeast Selection (Batten). In addition, Jankins was drafted in the 13th Round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, the 17th different player to be drafted in the First Year Amateur Player Draft in program history.
In 2015, Delaney tied the Bobcats program record for wins in a season with 29 as he led Quinnipiac to a 29-27 record with a 15-9 record in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. The Bobcats also finished third in the MAAC, their highest regular season finish in the conference and highest since winning the Northeast Conference regular season championship in 2007, when Delaney was a player on the team.
The Bobcats saw an 11-win improvement from the year before Delaney took over the program and also improved their conference win total by three wins from the previous season. Quinnipiac was also reached as high as a No. 5 ranking among New England college baseball in the NEIBA poll, their first ranking since the 2007 season when they reached a No. 1 ranking.
Five different Quinnipiac players were named to the All-MAAC First Team, two were named to the NEIBA All-New England team and Vincent Guglietti was named to the ABCA/Rawlings First Team during Delaney's first season. Delaney was also nominated for the MAAC Coach of the Year award.
In 2014-15, Delaney was named as the 10th coach in Quinnipiac baseball history, and the fourth at the Division I level. In his first season as an assistant in 2013, Delaney helped guide the Bobcats to an eight-game improvement from the previous year. Delaney was elevated to associate head coach for the 2014 season, which will be Quinnipiac's first season competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
Delaney finished his playing career in 2008, collecting four-straight All Northeast Conference honors, including a First Team selection in each of his last three years with the Bobcats. He was later drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft, playing three seasons before retiring. Delaney was rated as one of the top third-base prospects in the organization, and was honored with the "Hardest Worker Award" at the Brewers' 2009 Spring Training.
Delaney returned to his alma mater after stops at Sacred Heart University in 2010 and with the University of Hartford in 2011. Delaney completed his Quinnipiac career with 206 hits, good for fourth place all-time at Quinnipiac, while also totaling 34 doubles, tying him with former teammate Wilson Matos '06 for third place all-time. As a senior in 2008, Delaney led the Bobcats in most offensive categories including home runs (9), runs batted in (40), hits (66), runs scored (49), at-bats (196), batting average (.337), doubles (15), slugging percentage (.571) and triples (2). In addition, his .357 (20-56) batting average with runners in scoring position and 13, two-out RBI's also led the team. Delaney posted a team-best 20 multiple-hit games, including seven games with three or more. His 12 multiple-RBI games also led the Bobcats while his 15 doubles ranked sixth all-time with his 66 hits ranking as the fifth most in Quinnipiac history in a single season.
Since its start as an intercollegiate sport in 1954, Quinnipiac's baseball program has had nine head coaches all-time. Harry Godi was the first coach in program history, compiling a 69-30-2 record from 1954 through 1960. Burt Kahn coached the team for the 1961 and 1962 seasons before Jim Kroll took the reins from 1964 through 1966, compiling a 32-25-1 record. Kahn and Rudy Raffone held co-head coach duties for the 1967 season before Alan Basney ran the club for the 1968 season. After a two-year stint by Harry Brown that produced a 29-20 record for 1969 and 1970, Gooley assumed the role from 1977 through1987, posting a 203-122-5 record in his first stint as Quinnipiac's skipper. Earl Matthewson then led the team for nine years from 1977 through 1996, compiling a 174-134-1 record. In 1997, Joe Mattei was named the program's head coach, and in 1998 became Quinnipiac's first Division I coach. Mattei held the position until the 2002 season when Gooley returned to his alma mater, and has been the Bobcats' head coach since. Gooley has amassed 540 wins for his 28-year career, with 439 coming at Quinnipiac including 234 at the Division I level.

Aaron Hilt, a former standout collegiate baseball player and seven-year assistant coach at Ashland University, has officially taken the reigns of EMU's pitching staff ahead of the 2022 season.
In his first season on staff, Hilt helped lead the Eagles pitching staff set a new school record for strikeouts in a season (416). The previous high, set in 2012, was 389.
Hilt played a role in helping Eagle hurler Cameron Wagoner get drafted in the 11th round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers organization. The selection was EMU's fifth MLB draft pick in the last six years. Hilt also guided freshman hurler Adam Falinksi through a great rookie season, as the right-hander led all freshmen in the Mid-American Conference in innings pitched (58.0), strikeouts (61), and complete games (4). Additionally, Falinskis four complete-game efforts ranked third in NCAA DI baseball in 2022.
Hilt spent nearly a decade climbing the coaching ranks and adding responsibilities with Ashland. After returning to his alma mater in 2014, he was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2018.
The Eagles reached the NCAA Division II postseason four times in Hilt's seven seasons, and made a run to the College World Series in 2019. Hilt has been part of two College World Series teams, also reaching the final stage as a player in 2008. Ashland posted a 230-149 (.607) record during Hilt's run with Ashland.
The 2019 season was a record-setting year for Ashlands hurlers. Ashland won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's regular season and tournament championships, as well as the Midwest Regional Tournament title, advancing to the NCAA College World Series. Eagle pitchers combined for a program-record-tying 48 wins, and set a new program and GLIAC standard for team strikeouts in a season with 537.
Hilt was directly responsible for the mentorship of numerous award-winning and now-professional pitchers while at Ashland. A pair of his players, Art Warren and Brandyn Sittinger, were selected in the MLB Draft in 2015 and 2016, respectively. A 2015 All-GLIAC selection, Warren made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2019. Sittinger, a former GLIAC Pitcher of the Year, Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year, and First Team All-American while at Ashland, made his MLB debut for the Arizona Diamondbacks this season.
In addition to mentoring now-MLB players, Hilt has also helped his hurlers earn many other awards and finish atop the national leaderboards in multiple categories. Jake Baldwin (2015) earned Second Team All-American honors and finished with Ashland's best career win percentage under Hilt's leadership, while Chris Slavik (2019) and Perry Bewley (2021) both earned All-American status, and led all of Division II baseball in wins, and saves, respectively. Josh Smith (2021) also signed an independent professional contract this spring after studying under Hilt.
Before returning to Ashland as a coach, Hilt spent a pair of seasons at Wheeling University as a graduate assistant coach. He also held the title of Interim Head Coach for a brief stint with Wheeling.
During Hilts playing career at Ashland, he won a GLIAC Championship, one Midwest Regional championship, made three straight NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament appearances, and an NCAA Division II World Series appearance. In 2009, Ashland was ranked third in the nation, and received the program's highest national ranking. Hilt received All-GLIAC conference honors, All-Midwest Region honors, and is the only pitcher to throw a complete-game no-hitter since the 1994 season.
After playing at Ashland, Hilt continued his athletic career by signing a professional contract with the Normal Cornbelters in the independent Frontier League. He was selected as the fifth overall pick in the first round of the annual Frontier League draft.
A native of Richmond, Ohio, Hilt and his wife Kaleigh reside in Ypsilanti.
