 History

The Texas State Bobcat Baseball Stadium has a new look. After putting in a new video scoreboard and bullpens in 2008, the renovations continued into 2009. Now fans can experience a new baseball stadium including enhanced seating options, a brick exterior, ticket office and luxury suites.

Construction on the multi-million dollar new home of Texas State baseball begun on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 and finished with a home opener on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 as the Bobcats played the University of Texas.

The baseball stadium houses seating for 2,000 patrons with the ability to host an additional 500 fans in standing room only areas.  Seating options include several premium chair back seats largely covered by a cantilever roof. General admission seats feature improved bench back metal bleachers placed directly behind the visiting and home team dugouts. Also new to the baseball stadium are four luxury suites hosting up to 12 patrons each.

The new press box includes individual broadcast booths with wireless internet capabilities and an expanded workspace for media outlets.

Fans entering the stadium are greeted with a new ticket services center, modern restrooms and expanded team merchandise sales area. An open plaza with grassy knolls and picnic areas for public use are located between the softball stadium and baseball stadium to provide a fan-friendly atmosphere.

Renovations also extend to the field with the transformation of both home and visitor dugouts into recessed areas for both teams complete with a restroom available in the home dugout. Covered batting cages, updated netting and backstop add to the enhanced facility.
