Since opening in the fall of 2011, the $65.5 million Athletics and Events Center has given Ithaca College’s student-athletes a state-of-the-art facility in which to train and compete, while offering the entire campus a place to gather for significant college and community events.
Honored with an Innovative Architecture & Design Award from Recreation Management magazine, the A&E Center in its first year hosted the Bomber Wrestling Invitational, Empire 8 Indoor Track & Field Championships and Empire 8 Men’s Tennis Championships among other athletic contests.
It was designed to meet at least LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) silver standards, and the signature tower is more than just an architectural feature—it functions to provide natural cooling and ventilation to the large indoor space.

Higgins Stadium, an 82,000-square-foot outdoor stadium, contains a multi-sport synthetic playing surface that is illuminated to allow for evening use. The stadium can accommodate up to 1,000 spectators for lacrosse and field hockey games. Soccer games are also occasionally played here during inclement weather.
