Jackrabbit Softball Stadium

Located to the north of Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium and the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, the Jackrabbit Softball Stadium officially opened with its first game on April 20, 2007.

Permanent dugouts were added to the stadium in 2008, and since the arrival of head coach Krista Wood the park has seen numerous enhancements, including wind screens and updated SDSU branding along with improvements to the playing surface.

In fall of 2016, the Jackrabbit softball team installed a net backstop, replacing the original chain-link backstop to provide better sight lines for fans and a cleaner look. That netting received a further upgrade in 2020 and a new scoreboard and updated padding to the outfield wall were installed in 2021.

Future additions to the facility include permanent seating, field turf and a press box.

The newly-completed Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex adds a whole new dimension for the Jackrabbit softball team, allowing them to practice inside on the 100 yards of synthetic turf, and a high ceiling to allow for more realistic game conditions. The $32 Million facility also includes batting cages for both the SDSU softball and baseball teams within the turfed area, and a separate hitting facility, opened in 2019, with two permanent cages and a training area.
