"When there's no room to build out...build up." That's the mantra of modern-day engineers and contractors and is something San Diego State took to heart when designing its soccer/track facility. The $13 million SDSU Sports Deck facility sits atop the university's two-story parking structure (P7). The facility is located on Montezuma Road and 55th Street at the site of the old Choc Sportsman Oval.

Arrow The Sports Deck serves as the home for the men's and women's soccer programs as well as the SDSU women's track team. In 2012, Aztec administration spent over a million dollars to light the facility and then made another major upgrade in 2018 with a $250,000 video scoreboard.

Arrow The playing turf for soccer is a state-of-the-art natural grass surface with a built in automatic-drainage system and seats 1,500 people with a capacity of 3,000.

Arrow The first official NCAA event was held at the Sports Deck on August 25, 2000, when the Aztec women's soccer team faced Mississippi in its season opener. SDSU won that match, 2-1.

Arrow The first men's soccer contest at the site was held on Sept. 1, 2000, versus Christian Heritage. The Aztecs won that match, 5-0, marking the facility's first shutout.  In 2016, the men’s soccer program defeated No. 1 Akron, 1-0, in front of approximately 2,000 raucous fans.
