Southeastern Soccer Complex

Opened in 2002, the Southeastern Soccer Complex provides the Lady Lions with one of the top facilities in the Southland Conference and the state of Louisiana.

Located on the university’s North Campus, the 1,000-seat facility features a digital LED scoreboard and a top-of-the-line sound system. In addition to being used for Southeastern matches and practices, the Southeastern Soccer Complex also hosts several camps throughout the area. The field has also given the Lady Lions a definite “home-field” advantage, as Southeastern has recorded a 51-22-10 record in its nine seasons playing at the facility.

The newest additions to the facility are on-line for the 2009 season. A new permanent structure that covers the benches and press area, as well as serves as a film tower has been added.

One of the nicer features is the grassy berm located on the left side of the Southeastern Soccer Complex entrance.  During Lady Lion home games, Southeastern students and fans are known to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the view from the berm. Plans for adding a second berm on the right side are in place.

In its inaugural season, the Southeastern Soccer Complex played host to the 2002 Southland Conference Tournament, marking the first time Southeastern had hosted a SLC postseason event. Southeastern also served as the host site for the 2004 and 2005 SLC Tournaments.

In recent years, one of the priorities of Southeastern Athletics has been the improvement and renovation of the teams’ facilities. The Southeastern Soccer Complex is a prime example of that priority. In 2004, a concrete entrance way has been laid, as well as a concrete pad for the benches and press row area.
