LEGACY FIELDS

Located in the heart of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, Legacy Fields, opened in 2019, is the home for Golden Eagle men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, and softball.

The state-of-the-art facility features two 74-yard by 120-yard multipurpose TriplePlayHP slit film synthetic turf playing surfaces. The north field serves as the primary soccer field and is lined for secondary field hockey use, while the south field serves as the primary lacrosse field and is lined for secondary soccer use. Both fields are equipped with lighting provided by MUSCO featuring the newest lighting technology utilizing LED-1150 Luminaire fixtures.

The state-of-the-art softball facility measure 200’ to left, 220’ to center and 195’ to right, and is outfitted with a combination of TriplePlayHP slit film synthetic turf system that has an incorporated Spikezone in the clay areas and a dual fibered thatched synthetic turf system in the outfield for the best in aesthetics, ball performance and durability. The softball field also features MUSCO LED-1150 Luminaire fixtures. These fixtures are instant on/off with no warm up time and are providing a minimum of 70 foot candles in the infield and 50 foot candles in the outfield. Additional up-light fixtures were added to assist in up-lighting the bottom of the ball on pop-ups.

The Legacy Fields complex is named in honor of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, who founded Nazareth College (now Spalding University) with a mission to "meet the needs of the times" and were the first in Louisville to admit Black students; and in honor of the 35 African American students who bravely broke the color barrier in 1950 as the first Black students admitted to Nazareth College.

October 5, 2019, Spalding Men's Soccer defeats Fontbonne University, 2-0.
October 5, 2019, Spalding Women's Soccer defeats Fontbonne University, 2-1.
March 13, 2021, Spalding Softball defeats Blackburn College, 4-2.
February 23, 2024, Spalding Women's Lacrosse defeats Huntingdon, 12-6.
March 30, 2024, Spalding Men's Lacrosse defeats Warren Wilson, 23-6.
