Spartan Field

Address: 12575 N Outer 40 Rd / St. Louis, MO 63141

Spartan Field is home to Missouri Baptist University's Football, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Men's Track & Field and Women’s Track & Field programs.

As part of a multi-stage project, Phase I of Spartan Field was completed in the fall of 2015 with an artificial turf field, and an 11,750 square-foot facility that houses football coaches’ offices, locker rooms and a press box. While largely used as a practice facility, the soccer and lacrosse programs began to use Spartan Field for competition during the 2017-18 school year.

The latest expansion (Phase II) has transformed Spartan Field into one of the top collegiate facilities in the NAIA, AMC and greater St. Louis area. Among the upgrades include an eight-lane track, stadium lights (Musco Lighting Light-Structure System™), sound system (Cignal Systems, Inc.), video scoreboard (Daktronics), seating for 1,000 (bleachers and limited chair back seats), women’s locker room, weight room, concession stand, public restrooms, and an enhanced entrance plaza.

Currently, MBU is the only institution in the American Midwest Conference with an eight-lane, competition-ready track. Sporting a Spurtan BV synthetic surface that is International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) certified, the track meets all necessary requirements to host future collegiate, high school and international level track & field competitions. Other additions for the track & field program include long jump and triple jump pits, a pole vault pit, high jump pad and steeplechase hurdles and water pit.

Serving as the construction project manager for Phase I and II was Holland Construction Services, while Ittner Architects was responsible for the planning and design.
